PureLiFi vs. WiFi

PureLiFi vs. WiFi

LIFi technology is going to relieve the stress that is now put on radio frequencies. With the increasing amount of data transmission, LiFi will reduce interference and have increased the bandwidth. PureLiFi will be safer to use in areas where radio frequencies pose a danger. Also, it will enhance data security because of the ability to contain it in a determined space.

Communication is a critical activity in an individual’s life. This is an essential activity as it creates awareness and spreads knowledge in all its possible forms. Mobile communication on laptops and mobile phones has grown drastically among all demographics, especially with the increased use of social media sites.

It is estimated that almost 20 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices would be in use in the year 2020. These communication devices will need a platform that enables the exchange of data in the quickest, safest, and most convenient way possible hence guaranteeing congestion in the traditional wireless spectrum. This calls for a more innovative approach to serve all these data-hungry devices.

Which platform do you use for wireless communication and data transfer in 2018?

LiFi Technology

LiFi is a very creative Visual Light Communication mode created by the co-founder of PureLiFi Professor Harald Haas. Its first unveiling was done at a global talk in early 2011 by Professor Harald Haas.

LiFi is a wireless communication technology for the transmission of data and files using light. This factor of using visible light for wireless transmission of data gives LiFi the ability to utilize a spectrum used for radio transmission on a ratio of 1000:1.

This means that you can use LiFi on an LED light bulb, infrared or ultraviolet rays to access the internet and to transfer files and communications in any location that has a LiFi enabled bulb.

This technology showcased for the first time in 2018, where LiFi was integrated into a phone case and a laptop.

The use of Illumination light for communication purposes gives LiFi a great future as this technology can be incorporated or utilized in many devices that would have otherwise not accessed the internet through Wi-Fi.

Such applications include the use of LiFi on an airplane cabin, hospitals, and moving cars, which would be affected by Wi-Fi’s radio frequencies.

PureLiFi statistically states that in the quest to achieve the ultimate goal for smart cars, LiFi provides a quicker and safer way of transmitting communications and the internet inside a moving vehicle.

Interruptions and insecurity mark the use of Wi-Fi as it is easily reachable by intruders and unintended people due to the use of radio frequencies.

As opposed to this, the method of visible light communication means that it is only accessible to an individual within the light spectrum, which is confined within a predetermined area such as a house or a car.

This thus means that the use of LiFi ensures that your data transmission and communication is kept safe and secure at a higher magnitude than Wi-Fi.

These aspects, coupled with the ability of LiFi to create constant and efficient connectivity of up to 40 M bps, allows businesses and institutions to fully utilize their space and time through the use of LiFi.

Most businesses greatly value security for their data, and with the introduction of LiFi, this gives them a safer and convenient working environment.

Phillips Lighting is the first company to utilize this technology with its LED bulbs in partnership with a French real estate firm, Icade.

This goes to show that LiFi is headed beyond an unimaginable usage and application due to its convenience and data transfer safety solution as well as the ability to use it in areas that are sensitive to radio frequencies.

This is particularly true, especially with our continued reliance on mobile devices for communication and the advanced capabilities in these gadgets.
